After a long stay abroad /1994 – 2009/, the couple of artists presents at the thematic exhibition in Koppel villa, Jan Koniarek Gallery, which shows the work of artists of the final four years. They both reflect on actual social issues, as the alienation of individuals or selected social groups in relation to the outside world within advanced Europe. Reflection covers uniformity, technical developments and stereotypes offered by today reality. Play on words in the title refers to two levels in principle: the word IDENTITY, when within blurring the political, economic and socio-cultural boundaries, there is, in a sense, a loss of identity – the sculptor Iveta Tomanová (*1961, Trenčianske Teplice) addresses this issue in her figural works and in parallel it is an opinion of both authors as artistic entities (ID – Iveta, Dušan) in relation to the mentioned issues. The graphic artist and painter Dušan Pacúch (*1954, Martin) will introduce medium-sized and several large size rotogravure works, which he varies according to matrices (every print is an original printed in 1 piece). Bringing them together in the context of content he creates a storyline, micro stories. This art process is unique in the world of graphic techniques in Slovakia over the last decades. In 2016, he was nominated for the Celeste Prize in London for one in a series of graphics in the category painting and drawing with the subsequent exhibition of finalists in Bargehouse, London. The nomination is very valuable, as the panel was made up of the young and middle generation of directors and curators of important European exhibition institutions or independent curators with an outstanding international reputation.
Within international activities, Iveta Tomanová participated in associated exhibitions within visual art and architecture Biennale, Venice in 2015 and 2016. They present themselves only marginally in Slovakia (e.g. artists' association Biennale; in 2016 Iveta won with the variable series of paintings titled Self). Their last exhibition in Slovakia was in Bratislava in 1992.
At the end of 2018, the project, presenting visual release from difficult issues, comes to GJK; it is designed for the young or youngest generation.
